Henri Cartier-Bresson

                                                      1975-New York, Manhattan, Downtown

I chose this first photo because of the loneliness that I felt looking down this empty alley.  Just the guy and his kitten.  This photo is framed just right (from my perspective) and at the perfect distance to let you feel the loneliness.  The closing in of the walls, make me focus on just the guy and the kitten.

1947-New Jersey-Model Prison of Leesbury, Solitary Confinement

I found this photo to follow in the footsteps of Andre Kertesz, a photographer whom Cartier-Bresson studied.  There is a lot of mystery to this photo.  Who is the prisoner behind the jail door?  Why does he have just one arm, a hand and a leg sticking out?  I also think with the photo showing a good portion of the floor, its almost taunting to the prisioner, as if to say, "Here's the path to freedom, but you cant have it just yet."
